WHEN MONEY FAILS...Part 2
Quote of the week: “You can't think
failure and arrive at success. Think well, you'll speak well, and it will be
well with you.” – Dr. David Oyedepo
I hope this meets you
well. If you care to believe it, then know that your decline has declined, and you’re
on your way to better days!!!
A story is
told of a period in the United States of America when the work and impact of
Barbers were not appreciated. Despite contributing their quota to the
development of the nation and economy via helping to keep businessmen, civil
servants and politicians clean, well shaven, and decent, most barbers were often
disregarded and looked down on. To change the status of things, the association
of professional barbers in the city decided to hold a conference, and through
that platform sensitize the American public of their worth and value to the
society.
To drive
home the aim of the conference, they decided to do something creative. In the
host city of the conference, there lived a notoriously popular beggar who was
very miserly, untidy and unkempt, whose abode was by the city’s dumpsite. They
decided to clean this beggar up, shave him, clothe him, and have him as the
protocol that would usher in every guest into the conference hall.
On the day of the conference, attendees were warmly received by arguably one of the freshest, cleanest, decent, and handsome man they had seen in a long time. However, towards the end of the conference, the head of the barbers’ association asked the audience if they were impressed with the reception and the conduct of the protocol, especially the one who ushered them into the conference hall, to which they all answered in the affirmative.
Then, the speaker, to the shock of the audience, revealed the identity of the man who everyone had literally “fallen” in love with as the once dirty beggar they have always known. It was only then that the audience indeed began to applaud all the barbers and the organizers of the conference. Wow! It was then evidently clear that barbers in the United States were valuable and could do a lot in making the city a better place. With the message passed, the conference ended.

One week after,
they found the usher back at the dumpsite with his tattered clothes, as usual!
And then,
reality hit the barbers…while they succeeded in changing the outward appearance
of the usher, they couldn’t and didn’t change his inner appearance; his
mentality!
That’s where
we begin today: everything begins with your mentality. Wealth is powered by
your mentality. Mentality is everything. Poverty is not a state, poverty is a
mentality. Wealth is a state, powered by mentality. No matter how much you
have, with the wrong mentality, you’ll still be poor. Many people have so much
cash today, but they are still very much poor. And it’s only a matter of time
before they realize that they never had anything. The difference between the
wealthy and the poor is rooted in how their mentalities are shaped. My friend,
how market?
Your urgent
change of financial status places a definite demand on your financial mentality.
It’s not how much you can make physically, but how much you can create. Creation
is first, a function of mentality before anything else. Just know this: your
recession is over the day you change your financial mentality! I have tried to
analyse it, to see how I will end up poor. Unsuccessful!
I have since concluded like one of my spiritual fathers said that: “I can never be poor”. And someone would say, “But you aren’t rich yet”. Well, you haven’t seen anything yet. I may be a silent billionaire in the making, you never can tell. But I know that since I have committed myself to call my senses to order, it’s only a matter of time for all other things to fall into place. I say this with the strongest of convictions and practical realities. You can do same.

I may be a silent billionaire in the making, you never can tell. But I know that since I have committed myself to call my senses to order, it’s only a matter of time for all other things to fall into place. I say this with the strongest of convictions and practical realities. You can do same.
It’s the
wrong wealth mentality that makes people pursue money all their lives and yet
end up being mere peasants, living from hand to mouth. It’s poor financial mentality
that makes the pursuit of money end in futility. Man created money; money
should work for man, not the other way. Mentality!
With the
right mentality, you can create any dimension of wealth. With that sorted, let’s
talk about how to create wealth practically….
I have said
it before that the ways of God are not lower but higher. It was God who clearly
tasked man into wealth creation when He said in Genesis 1 vs 28;
“…Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it…”
To “multiply”
means to create additional layers of a thing, in the same order of magnitude. And
when you consider that it is God that has given this as a command, you are
bound by divinity to create wealth, and subdue “money”. There’s therefore
nothing spiritual about poverty and lack. As a matter of fact, many people will
not make heaven because of poverty. Most crimes and sins committed are
traceable to poverty.
Forget
inherited wealth. While there’s nothing bad about getting some inheritance
money, there’s everything bad when you can’t create additional layers of that
begotten wealth. By multiplication, you plant your creative seed and establish
your continuous reign in that realm. So many persons have inherited wealth but
remained poor afterwards. To many, it’s a simple case of more money, more lack.
You can inherit the wealth of a man, but not his worth. Your worth is as worked
out by you. Never forget!
How do you create wealth?
- Firstly, you need to understand the source of wealth. While the CBN is the source of money, God is the source of wealth. It’s your choice. While the former, via fiscal and monetary policies, stifle your ability to hold more money, God daily gives you the POWER to create more and more wealth, because He wants you to always be fruitful and multiply. Recognize Him as your source.
- Secondly, you need to urgently format your brain and eliminate every form of negativity. The negativity in the country is already enough, don’t compound it. You need to urgently understand that you can survive, even with a deficit. No matter how short-changed you think you already are, you must know that you can break-even. After all, calculus tells us that a minus multiplied by a minus is equal to a plus. Are you in a deficit?
- Thirdly, you need to find your seed. Every act of wealth creation is a function of the seed that was planted. God, via the works of creation, sowed the seed of wealth for man to multiply it. Adam met a wealthy garden, but was tasked with multiplying it. You must understand that that for everything that God gives to you, there is a BREAD part and a SEED part. If you eat your bread as well as your seed, there would be nothing to plant, and there would be no harvest, no matter how long you pray! What you do with your seed is entirely your business. Whether you choose to give it to the work of God, or you choose to give it to an orphanage, or you choose to invest wisely, or you choose to do all of the above, is entirely your decision. But know this, seedtime and harvest time will never cease.
- Finally, you need to find a problem, and solve it. How many problems you solve determine how much wealth you can create. Don’t worry, problems will always abound because “iniquity shall abound”. It’s a prophecy! Stop crying about that problem, seek to solve it. Have you noticed that whenever you have money, for instance, an idle cash, a problem just arises that takes that money away. It goes to show that money has a direct relationship with problems. Through problems and the ability to solve them, wealth is ultimately transferred. Find a problem you can solve immediately, and watch wealth created for you instantly. When people know that you can solve their problem, just like the Egyptians sold themselves to Joseph for grain, so also will people readily transfer the little or much that they have to you. Dangote, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Solomon Chinedu, etc. get your money every day because they solve some hunger, IT, knowledge, and research problems for you. What are you waiting for?
Therefore,
wealth creation anchors on your source and the depth of your source, your mentality,
your meaningful investments, and your problem-solving capacity and capability. If
you expected something else, probably some get-rich-quick-scheme, my apologies.
I’m as real as reality. Stop waiting to reach a particular age to start creating
wealth. Stop limiting yourself. Adam became wealthy the very day he was
created. You’re already running behind!
Understand
that, "until what you can make while you’re sleeping can take care of you when
you wake up", until then, you have not started, you're probably still poor. Take no offence. Start creating
wealth today!
Next week,
we shall broach the final part of this series: How and where to invest, and how
to sustain and spread your wealth, with practical and real life investment opportunities
and strategies.
I wish you
a monetary week ahead. Remember, to whom brain is given, sense is expected.
See you
next week!
